The centers are decorated with hand painted Greek urns or vases overflowing with pink roses, copper chrysanthemums, purple violets and lots of bright green leaves. You can see and feel the brush stokes in the enamel! All of the plates bear the Royal Worcester backstamp in purple and the Registry mark - Rd.No651926 - in green. The date mark under the backstamp is a star and two dots (*..) indicating a production date of 1918. The pattern number "C 1389" is hand painted in red. There are a few very light scratches - probably just from stacking. These elegant plates were probably never actually used as dinner plates but more likely used as 'service' plates or chargers - I see no utensil marks! Each plate is in Excellent - Near Mint - condition! NO chips, cracks or repairs! An Elegant Service for 8 - plus a spare!
