1930 Rookwood M. McDonald Figural Ceramic Bookends (Click to Enlarge) This beautiful pair of Rookwood ceramic bookends date from 1930 and was designed by Margaret McDonald. Pink matte glaze gives way to a greyish color. 6037 style code. Date code XXX. McDonald's impressed mark is on the rear of each piece. Hand-written "X" suggests these were factory seconds, probably due to some imperfection in the glaze. Each measures 6 x 6 x 4.25 inches and weighs 4 lbs. 12 oz. Thanks for visiting.
