Downsizing my collections, I’m listing much of my folk art. Some pottery, as well as other items I’ve loved & enjoyed. It’s time for someone else to give these neat pieces a new home. Early Turtlecreek Redware Pottery 8-1/2" Quilled Plate Mary Spellmire Greg Shooner 1985 Museum Piece Slab-formed and slip-decorated by Mary Spellmire Shooner in her first years at Turtlecreek Pottery, Morrow, OH. To give this plate an antique look, Greg intentionally aged the piece – all chips and dings are original. This piece must have been one of the first slip plates to be made at Turtlecreek by Mary. The slip lines are irregular; and, this plate is the only one of its kind (decoration) that I've seen - it's also slightly warped - something that must have occurred when the piece was fired. All real neat attributes to one of the earliest Spellmire-Shooner pieces. As in all Turtlecreek Museum Pieces, lead glaze was used. Etched into the bottom of the plate “Museum Piece – 1985 – MS (Spellmire’s initials) – early Turtlecreek Potters logo". The plate measures 8-1/2" diameter. US Bidders/Buyer ONLY. Payment by Paypal only, please – and, payment is required within twenty-four (24) hours of winning the auction. Shipping is expedited once payment is received; and, free shipping on this one, with insurance & delivery confirmation included. Please ask any and all questions - I will be happy to answer questions or send additional photos, as this is a final sale.
