You are bidding on a exceptionally fine, original Rookwood Pottery matching pair of Bookends with a Raven type figural design. The pieces haves the incised Rookwood name on the the base and are dated from 1954 with the mark 2275X. Both pieces also have an impressed "M" on the body. It is possible this could be the artists initials. Each piece measures 5.5" H x 5.25" W. These wonderful pieces are in excellent shape with no damages of any type. There is some age crazing on the bookends which is normal for this type of Rookwood pottery and does not detract from them in any manner. The bookends have a shaded brown color to them . The color on the pieces have remained strong with no fading. It is getting hard to find a great Rookwood pieces like these from this era and you will not be disappointed. A great Rookwood art deco type pair of matching bookends in perfect condition. These pieces are very heavy for shipping purposes weighing 6+ lbs.
