Germany collection , well over 100 years +, who's founder,Reinhold Schlegelmilch, created the R.S. Prussia Line...this old world artist conveys an eye for the detail the quality of these creations are known for..... soft pastels of blues,pink and ivory set the background for casually,meticulously handpainted baby blue forget me nots....the pattern is an exact compliment to the 2 J&C/Bavarian~Limoges handpainted cups and saucers i have listed separately for sale at this time ........this well treasured set is in excellent condition...... the real gold coin accents along the handles and top of the sugar bowl.....i have seen a few of these old world creations but not one in such excellent condition and with the gold detailing in near mint condition....the creamer is 5" long from the handle to the tip of the spout, 2 3/4" wide and stands 2" tall, the sugar is 5 1/4" long from handle to handle and 3 1/4" wide....and stands 2 1/2" tall to the top of the gold lid... Pickard imported and used many of the R.S Germany line due to the very high standards and quality he found in them....his artists painted many of these pieces....and of those he marked with the Pickard markings his is the most often found on the R.S Germany line.....The U.S thought so much of the R.S Germany line that many high end department stores had special lines/patterns created just for them ...by 1910, his son had founded the Tillowitz factory and using the all-green "RS Germany" mark.....Pieces bearing both the "RS Prussia" and the "RS Germany" mark can be found among the Rarest Treasures collection. Depending on when they were produced, the qualities of these items may be almost indistinguishable.... ...the pieces produced at the Tillowitz factory bearing the "RS Germany" mark throughout the years tended to simpler molds and more subtle decoration..... .....Being made of old European Hard paste porcelain it is in the select family of/including Limoges and Bavarian created porcelain....it has endured without crazing because of it's natural foundation.....
