A beautiful marked "Rookwood" cabinet vase. Dated XXXI for 1931. Also stamped number 1811. Great embossed sides that repeat 8 times in a very art Deco style. The glaze is sort of a green blue and shows slightly more green then the photos show. The vase was completely made and fired and then finally glazed and fired. At the end of production and during the final glaze firing, I believe the glaze ran underneath and stuck to the kiln resulting in the bottom chip (see photo). The chip can't be detected from the side of the vase as I took a close-up of this spot. I know this was during production because of the X they carve in the base. Otherwise perfect condition no glaze crazing or pops. No hairlines or repairs. I would note a couple of "pencil lines" and an inside bottom rust spot. Measures 5 3/8" high x 7" diameter widest point. Base is 2 3/4" diameter. Buyer pays shipping in the US of $12.00 including insurance and well packed, thanks.
